There is a narrow gauge steam train that takes you alongside Lake Bala. In the other direction is Corwen with the historic Llangar Old Church and Rug Chapel. Llangollen, home of both the International Musical Eisteddfod and Llangollen Steam Railway is just a short distance away, as is Ruthin where you can visit the magnificently restored Nantclwyd Y Dre town house. Also visit Betws y Coed, gateway to the Snowdonia National Park, with its bustling shops and leafy forest walks. The Welsh Mountain Zoo is well worth a visit. Horse riding nearby.
